Chocolate Mousse Crunch Cake

Fluffy chocolate cake, rich mousse, creamy ganache, and Heath bits combine to form this dessert made in heaven.  It makes such an elegant presentation, you’ll find yourself fighting the urge to slice & serve.  Use of a cake mix makes this convenient and no less delicious, but your favorite cake recipe works equally as well.

I love it when good friends share their best recipes - and this is one of them.  I remember gasping when I glanced at it - and almost sliding off my chair with the first bite.
If using a cake mix, Duncan Hines Devils Food is a good choice - although it’s challenging to find in most grocery stores.  A from-scratch recipe would be wonderful too - if you have the time.  (You may want to try THIS recipe)
This mousse is so simple - no need to stress about anything except letting the gelatin sit a bit too long and stiffen up prematurely.  Remember that ganache thickens as it cools, so don’t panic if it looks thin at first.

Good luck letting this refrigerate before serving - it’s just too tempting.

  1. Oh yum. That cake looks so decadent. It reminds me of the chocolate trifle my family enjoys.
