Done. With Fruit.

I look forward to the change of seasons because it makes me take a good look at what I will soon MISS.

My daughter & daughter-in-law have been hard at work canning peaches, pears, tomatoes, and all things summer.  And this is the first year I'm not even lifting a finger to can.  (sniff... sort of, anyway)

When I talk to them on the phone, I can hear the splashing and clattering (and the sound of my grandchildren wishing it was all finished so they can play with Mom).  It brings back memories of my sticky kitchen floor, peach fuzz making my arms itch, and (best of all) that great sense of accomplishment when the last piece of fruit is gone and the bottles are lined up on my shelf.

Canning is really worth it, and even if you don't do it - pick up a bunch of fruit and savor it while it lasts.

Here's a review of ways we've enjoyed great summer fruit (primarily peaches)  - some bottled, and some fresh.   (Links are on the wording for each recipe, not the photo...)  Enjoy.
